Charles Hamilton is an American producer and rapper born in Ohio, and raised in Harlem, New York. Born in Ohio then went to Harlem, Charles Hamilton was exposed to music at an early age. His mother was an entertainment journalist for the Cleveland Call and Post, so she would take him with her to events when he was just a baby. Charles Hamilton is the younger cousin of MC Lyte, one of the most acclaimed female rappers in the history of hip-hop.

Most of his music is sample-driven. His use of sampling music is unique which is always looked at on his mixtapes.

In December 2008, Charles Hamilton was featured on the cover of XXL, along with

This Perfect Life" ishis debut studio album. It was the first album distributed by a major record label for free download on Charles Hamilton's own website, there will also be a physical copy that can be purchased in stores that will include a DVD of animated videos to help the listener get a better feel for the music. The album was released digitally on June 23, 2009. though

Brooklyn Girls is Charles Hamilton's first single from his debut album, This Perfect Life. It was released on iTunes on November 18, 2008. The song prominently samples K. P. & Envyi's 1997 hit "Swing My Way" throughout . The song is also found on various Hamilton mixtapes such as Outside Looking.
