GRAMMY BEST NEW ARTIST NOMNITAED MUSICANS


The Grammy are right around the corner. This award show is the most significant music because the nominated and winners are decided by there musical peers. My focus will be the musicians that are nominated for best new artist. To be nominated for a best new artist award, an musician must release an album that is who released, during the Eligibility Year, the first recording which establishes the public identity of that artist.

Zac Brown Band
Zac Brown Band is a Grammy nominated and Academy of Country Music-award winning American country music band based in Atlanta, Georgia. The lineup consists of Zac Brown, (lead vocals, guitar), Jimmy De Martini (fiddle, vocals), John Driskell Hopkins (bass guitar, vocals), Coy Bowles (guitar, organ), Chris Fryar (drums) and Clay Cook (guitar, organ, mandolin, steel guitar, vocals). The band has toured throughout the United States, including a slot on the 2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival. It has also recorded four studio albums, and charted four singles on the Billboard country charts in the Number Ones "Chicken Fried" and "Toes", the #2 "Whatever It Is" and "Highway 20 Ride".

Keri Hilson
Keri Lynn Hilson is an American recording artist signed to Zone 4, Mosley Music Group and Interscope Records. She is part of a collective of writers and producers known as The Clutch. Through the early and late 2000s, Hilson wrote songs for multiple rappers and singers, including Britney Spears and Ludacris. In 2007, she guest performed on Timbaland's hits "The Way I Are" and "Scream" and began a solo singing career. Hilson has made cameos in music videos for Usher, Ne-Yo and Nelly, amongst others. Her debut album, In a Perfect World…, was released in early 2009, spawning hit singles "Energy," "Turnin' Me On," "Knock You Down," and "I Like", which was a hit in Germany.

MGMT

GMT,[2] also called "The Management" ("The Management" was occupied by another artist so the band shortened "The Management" to "MGMT"), is a Grammy nominated American musical duo based in Brooklyn, New York, consisting of Ben Goldwasser and Andrew van Wyngarden. Formed at Wesleyan University and originally with Cantora records, they signed with Columbia Records/Red Ink/Sony in 2006.

Silversun Pickups
Silversun Pickups are a Grammy nominated Alternative Rock band from Los Angeles, California, comprising Brian Aubert (lead vocals, guitar), Nikki Monninger (bass, vocals), Christopher Guanlao (drums) and Joe Lester (keyboards).
The band released their debut EP, Pikul, in July 2005, and their debut full-length album, Carnavas, on July 26, 2006. Their second full length album, Swoon, was released on April 14, 2009.

The Ting Tings
he Ting Tings are a Grammy-nominated English indie pop duo composed of Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, vocals, piano) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drums, bass guitar, and cow bells). Originally from Hackney, London, they formed in December 2007 while based at Islington Mill Artist Studios in Salford. They have released four singles on their current label Columbia Records UK, including the single "That's Not My Name", which charted straight at number one in the UK Singles Chart on 18 May 2008. The album We Started Nothing was released on 19 May 2008 and charted at number one in the United Kingdom.
