La Roux are an English electropop and synthpop duo made up of singer Eleanor Jackson and synthesizer player, co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid.  Their music is influenced by 1980s synthpop including Yazoo, Erasure, Depeche Mode, The Human League, Heaven 17 and Blancmange.

"In for the Kill"  was released as the album's second single in the United Kingdom on 16 March 2009, peaking inside the top ten in the UK. The  influenced by the title theme of the '80s cartoon classic Pole Position, with even the video paying homage to the show.

Bulletproof", the third single,written and produced by both members of La Roux, the song was released in the United Kingdom on 22 June 2009 as the album's third single in digital and physical formats from two labels, Polydorand Kitsuné Music. Debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. "Bulletproof" was ranked number twenty-five on Rolling Stone's list of The 25 Best Songs of 2009.  The song also reache number one on the US dance chart, with a peal postion of 29 Billboard Hpt 100.
